Postage and Packing

For all our products (except smoked salmon sides) the following criteria applies:

  • Minimum order: GBP 30 excluding P&P
  • Orders under GBP 60: P&P = GBP 6.00
  • Orders over GBP 60: P&P = GBP 3.00

Delivery is to your door or specified address and will arrive the day after despatch. We only despatch Monday to Thursday. Goods arrive in chilled packaging and gift cards are available upon request.

At Island Seafare we prefer to use our local fishing boats for our fresh fish and shellfish ensuring the highest quality and freshness. All our products can be traced to the source. With the exception of our exotic fish range, all fresh fish is caught in and around the Isle of Man. Where our local boats cannot fish due to poor weather conditions we can source products from fish markets in the UK, which are then processed by Island Seafare, maintaining our guarantee of the highest quality, freshest seafood.

Smoked Salmon

Our smoked salmon is carefully prepared from a first class raw material. We cure our salmon for twelve hours in a recipe of salt, brown sugar, onion salt, garlic salt, dill, oregano and white pepper. This process extracts moisture from the product and replaces it with a unique blend of flavours.

The drying process is carefully controlled to ensure the right texture of salmon is obtained.

A glaze of oil, lemon juice and rum is brushed over the fillets to provide that all important, introductory taste.

The product is smoked over oak and beech chippings for between twelve and fifteen hours. The correct smoking time can only be determined by experience.

The finished product is then left to mature in a chillroom for 36 hours before being sliced and packed. The result is a wonderful rounded flavour with a subtle after taste and just the right amount of smoke.

Serve with on buttered brown bread or a creme fraiche, with crushed black pepper, and a lemon wedge.

Please order two weeks in advance of Christmas, our last despatch is around the 20th December.

Shellfish Stall

King and queen scallops form the backbone of the company. We export both fresh and frozen product around Europe, supplying direct to the wholesale, retail and food service trades.

Manx scallops really are the best. Thanks to early measures taken to prevent over fishing and the implementation of conservation restrictions on the size of scallop landed, the Isle of Man is well known for the larger size of scallop it produces. We are literally surrounded by our fishing grounds, allowing our fleet to go out in the morning and land their catch the same evening. This means an end product that is of the highest quality and freshness possible. Our attitude toward fishing and conservation ensures a sustainable resource that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Our crab and lobster are fished daily by local potters, the flavour is sweet and the product first class.

We have complimented our range with a selection of the more popular shellfish.

Smoke House

In addition to our superb smoked salmon we also offer a range of smoked fish and other smoked products.

Manx kippers are a genuine traditional Manx delicacy. They are world famous and really are a different flavour, once tasted you won't buy any others. Kippers are available by the pack or buy the box.
